STRAWBERRY This fruit is excellent for fresh eating, pies, preserves and freezing. Hearty, disease resistant. Plant in spring or autumn. It favors a sunny, free draining soil and be sure to add lots of compost for soil enhancement. The plant will grow in semi shade as well, but will produce less fruit. Plant 18” apart and 30” between rows. Be sure not to plant the roots too deeply, just deep enough to be fully covered with the composted soil. Each plant produces 1-3 pints per season. Bears fruits from May to August.
