Serviceberry (Juneberry)

SERVICEBERRY (JUNEBERRY) Plant in early spring in moderately fertile soil with partial to full sun. Has star shaped white flowers occasionally with a pink or yellow hue. Produces edible purple fruits which can be used for making jam or jelly. Reaches 15+ feet. Very attractive to birds which will return year after year to enjoy the nutrient-rich berries thus playing a crucial role in natural seed dispersal for the plant.
